America's Dream
American's Dream

Driving down another long road I heard an old song from sixty-four
Nothin really special about those days just me and my friends – rolling
That was a time the world was mine I could be anything, just had to decide
cause I was one of the lucky ones who was riding – America's Dream

We would fall in love, We would be rich
somebody else would be digging that ditch
God was on our side, we had won the war
There had never been a time like this before
to be living – America's Dream

The Beatles came and changed it all, the Sullivan Show that Sunday night
I bought a guitar the very next day, started a band and was – rolling
Vietnam was heating up but that was a million miles away
we were safe at home, we were playing our songs , we were riding – America's Dream

Chorus:

Watching the news it's clear to me the rest of the world is catching up
like the last man out before the fire the boomers go out – rolling
Our generation had it all we lived in a world of plenty
but my gut shouts time is running out to be living – America's Dream

But.....You know
We fell in love, Some of us got rich
not very many had to dig that ditch
God was on our side, We didn't lose a war
I guess there's never been a time like ours before
To be living – America's dream
