“The Professional”...”The R & B of Comedy”...”The Gift of Timing and Delivery”...”An Incredible Audience Presence”... These are a few of the ways Spanky Brown has been described by his audiences since starting his comedy career in November of 1997 at an amateur night at The Comedy House Theater in Savannah, Georgia. He has been leaving audiences reeling with laughter ever since! Spanky has toured the country sharing his unique perspective and opinions on everything from his relationships, family, politics, religion, and race relations. Versatility and style best describe this veteran performer as he provides comedic insights that transcend all barriers: age, gender, race, and urban and mainstream audiences.

His personal account of triumphs and tragedies and unbridled opinions are for all those who really try to “keep it real.” His experiences as a “Preacher's Son” (even God knows he's funny), advertising executive, car salesman, insurance salesman, radio personality, father, step-father, being married and divorced (twice), and serving time – in the army, that is, and his honesty about them is what makes him such an endearing character.

“Comedy is like food,” says Spanky. “Everyone has a different taste for it.” With his bakground as diverse as his comedy, Spanky offers a buffet for every comedic taste bud. He “eats up” comedy lovers everywhere with a laid-back, rhythmic style and a persona so smooth that his set is more like sitting in his living room having a conversation rather than being at a live performance.

As a nationally touring stand-up comedian, Spanky has performed over 500 radio interviews, has been a regular on BET's Comic View and is a former contributing writer for nationally syndicated The Tom Joyner Morning Show. Spanky has been featured on The Speed Network, The Bob and Tom Show, John Boy and Billy's Big Show, and can be heard on XM and Sirius Satellite Radio. He is also the former hostof Barbershop Critics on the Black Family Channel. Spanky is also a member of “The Bob and Tom Comedy All-Stars Tour.” Most recently, Spanky can be heard hosting his own sports-comedy, radio call-in show “Out of Bounds with Spanky Brown.”
