1) Woke up this morning and started walking.
Following my nose. Gonna see where it goes.

2) Turkeys and squirrels talking just like girls.
Moose and goose were on the loose.

3) Saw some signs of bear. Deer was everywhere.
Dust from the gravel road don’t bother me.

Ch: 40 miles of wilderness, on my mind. 40 miles of heartache, in every direction.
40 miles. 40 miles. To Whimsey. 40 miles to Whimsey.

4) At 4am I heard the chorus. At 7 it was sounding good.
By nine, it was fine. And eleven was just okay.

5) When 7 came around again, I think I found a friend.
The road brought me here to Whimsey.

Bridge:
And I’m happy to see your face. It’s a handsome, beautiful, rugged, remarkable face.
But I never knew how it happened.
The story of the people you have knowed.
The wins and the losses. The children and the bosses. The gut of who you are.
Do you know what happened?

Ch: 40 miles of wilderness, on my mind. 40 miles of heartache, in every direction.
40 miles. 40 miles. To Whimsey. 40 miles to Whimsey.

coda: Feeling kind of cocky. Had a bite of jabberwocky.
