Wrong Train Right Time

stuck in a rut in a dead end town
spinning my wheels ain't covering no ground
punching that clock just to make my bills
trying to get ahead afraid I never will

so took a left turn instead of the right
rode the highway west out into the night
felt so good just to pick up and go
wind at my back destination unknown

I caught the wrong train at the right time
thought it was just by chance it was by design
can't turn that track you can only ride

met a waitress in the neon light
she filled my cup we talked all night
said where you going can I come too
We've been wild ever since still chasing the blue

realize now I'm not the engineer
ain't driving the train just a passenger here
so punch my ticket and let the whistle blow
