Perfect Healing
Writer: Jim Rushing
The old doctor creased his brow
And said for now your mother's resting easy
But I feel we're near the end
Of all that mortal man and medicine can do.
She has fought this thing so long
That her will to fight is gone and kids believe me
She's found her strength for hanging on
From the thought that moving on, means leaving you.
I felt the warmth of Pastor Dan's assuring hand
Resting on my shoulder
Your momma's hope is in the Lord,
From dragging those old chains of that disease.
Now there's no suffering over there
And I urge you both to go to her and hold her.
Her eyes are searching through the night
For the good Lord's loving light of sweet relief.
(Chorus)
(Let us pray for) Perfect Healing
(Please give us) Perfect Healing
Pray the hands of God will close her eyes
And her pain will be no more,
(And when she slips the) bonds of earth for Glory
(Let her leave a) smile to tell her story
That the Savior was there to greet her when
She reached that far away shore
Our dear mother slipped away
In the first golden rays of light this morning
I was summoned to her room
By the sound of sister breaking by her bed
Momma's face was filled with awe
Lord I'm sure she saw eternity a dawning
A face of woe an hour ago
Is now a face aglow with peace and joy instead
(Chorus)
(Oh we prayed for) Perfect Healing
(He sent us) Perfect Healing
The hands of God have closed her eyes
And her pain will be no more
And when she slipped the bonds of earth for Glory
She left a smile to tell her story
That the Savior was there to greet her when
She reached that far away shore.
(Repeat chorus)
