Once I walked alone in desperation
Knowing not my way back home
And my heart could find no consolation
In the troubled path I roamed
Then I found myself an old time altar
Where I knelt to pray one night
When I felt the tears roll down my face
That's when I felt the Lord inside

With the Spirit of the Lord inside
There's a greater love in me
When I asked Him to come in my life
What a difference I could see
And I know that it's a real salvation
For no other it could be

Since that day my life has changed completely
There's a gladness in my heart
I'm a member of God's loving family
With a message to impart
