I Can't Let Go
Writers: Jerry Cole, John Meador

First thing I saw were all the flowers
And the pictures of the family on the board
Next to a stand that held a guest book
And In Memory cards with a quote from the Lord
As I glanced around the room some were familiar
Some of which I haven't seen in years
With smiles and open arms they offered comfort
Trying all the while to fight the tears

The past few days I've been told
Heavens getting better
God promised us we'd never be alone
How do I tell our children when I read their bedtime story
And they ask me why is mom not comin home
I can't let go

They handed out the flowers to the family
Then they helped me in the car and shut the door
Relived seven years of memories
From a life that I don't have anymore
Friends and family at the graveyard
I bend down to kiss her face and then
Tears and roses fall upon the casket
So long for now I'll be with you again

The past few days I've been told
Heaven's gotten better
They've gained an angel there and I've lost mine
Without her by my side, how will I face tomorrow
I see her every time I close my eyes
I can't let go

The past few years I've been told
Heaven's gotten better
Gods revealing mercy, I've been shown
But as for life down here, I'm facing my tomorrows and waiting till I meet her at the throne
I can't let go
