Metis Girl

Driving from Thompson to Winnipeg is a 7 hour drive south through the heart of Manitoba. It passes Cree, Metis, Ojibway and Ojicree communities. This song began writing itself in my head and after checking into the hotel in Winnipeg at 11:30 at night, I picked up pen and paper, sat down and wrote a version pretty close to the finished song. The muse was with me!
