Alberta Clipper – This is an up-tempo number that I remember hearing Special Delivery sing years ago and I’ve always loved it! I lived in the mountains of Virginia (where some cold weather like the song describes took this Florida native by surprise) for several years while going to college and occasionally got invited to jam at the Blacksburg home of Kerry and Sue Hay, who were big promoters of bluegrass music. I met some members of the band at such a party and jammed some with them over the years. Thanks to Duane Compton (the band’s mandolin player and a good one) for getting the song info to us!
