I Stand Alone
I am a poor boy, in a rich boys town
I’m here all alone, with no real way out
I wear these old jeans, with my big leather boots
Because I know that I need, to stick to my long forgotten roots

Well I was born in the north, but I moved down below
I knew that Austin, would be my place to go
I grew up singing, to my daddy’s songs
Hoping that someday, I could have some of my own

Now I stand alone
Singing my songs
Hoping that someone
Might want to sing along
I wanna leave my mark
On this rich boys town
But I’ve been left in the dark
And I stand alone

I’ve tiptoed through the thorns, and swam through the flames
When no one was there to help, I just got through the pain
I tore through the fences, and burned down the walls
Did it all on my own, and just walked those empty halls

Now I’m meant for this world, I’ve dealt with my past
I’ve worked through the pain, just sifted through the ash
I still remember the old saying, when you love you get hurt
I learned to love myself, and I just made it work

And I stand alone
Singing my songs
Hoping that someone
Might want to sing along
I wanna leave my mark
On this rich boys town
But I’ve been left in the dark
And I stand alone

Solo

And I stand alone
Singing my songs
Hoping that someone
Might want to sing along
I wanna leave my mark
On this rich boys town
But I’ve been left in the dark
And I stand alone
