Biography
Texas singer-songwriter Ryan Glenn's unique style has been compared to a wide range of music legends, spanning from Orbison to Holly to Cash and the likes. While heavily influenced by a variety of genres from punk to jazz, Glenn’s passion for the classics started at a very young age. This blend of sounds has been coined by Glenn’s fans as “honky tonk heat” and is most evident in his latest release, “Luke the Drifter”. “Luke” was Glenn’s first songwriting experience, penned at age 15. The story is inspired by that of one of Glenn’s greatest heroes – Hank Williams – and is the result of his deep admiration for the artist and his then, teenage imaginations of the icon’s experiences.
At the young age of 21, Ryan Glenn is no stranger to the music business. His live performance journey started when he was just 16 years old, and he has been seen on stages across Texas, from Gruene Hall to the State Fair of Texas. Glenn's debut LP "Faraway Rose” was released in 2021, with producer John Pedigo, and featured guest appearances by Joshua Ray Walker, Ken Bethea (Old 97's), Jaret Ray Reddick, Kevin Geil (Two Tons of Steel) and others. Currently, Ryan and his band are in production of a new EP with Dallas based producer Tim Lightyear, with a target release date for late 2023.
