The Letter Song
Found a little letter from my daughter on the bed when she was gone
Said that she was sorry, for something I forget and she was wrong
She's growin' up, she's a woman but she's still my little girl

Said that she remembers how I searched for monsters underneath her bed
And how I always made her laugh, stupid things I said
She's growin' up, she's a woman but she's still my little girl

I've always been afraid, that I didn't do enough
I never knew raisin a family could be so tuff
But findin' that letter, made me feel better
I'm glad she took the time to say
I love you daddy

I try to never think about the day she moves away to start her life
Or when I have to walk her down the aisle, to become a wife
She's growin' up, she's a woman but she's still my little girl

I wonder if I let her know enough, how she always makes me smile
And I hope she comes to visit, even if it's only for a while
mmmmmm

I've always been afraid, that I didn't do enough
I never knew raisin a family could be so tuff
But findin' that letter, made me feel better
I'm glad she took the time to say
I love you daddy

Write a note, send a letter, maybe make a call
tell them what you have to say
Keep it simple, keep it real, keep it from the heart
You might make their day

I never will forget when my father passed away
I never cried so hard or felt as empty as that day
I'm glad I wrote my dad a letter, and told him everything I had to say

I've always been afraid, that I didn't do enough
I never knew raisin a family could be so tuff
I hope that letter, made him feel better
'cause findin' that letter, made me feel better
take a little time, find a little letter
you gotta take the time to say
Thank you dad, I love you.
