Cotton, Corn & Hay

  

Cotton corn and hay, cotton corn and hay,
Plowing planting reaping its how I make my way

I got a wife and children only see them once a day 
From the rising sun till the works all done
It’s cotton corn and hay 

I’m a third generation son of a farmer’s son
I work 200 acres it’s all I’ve ever done
It’s hard and hot and humid but I don’t complain
I’ve seen the changing of the times
but for me it's all the same                                                                                                I wonder if my only son is gonna work this land
Will he end up in the city or toil with calloused hands
I really wouldn’t blame him if he chose to leave
‘stead of riding on this old John Deere
and ending up like me 

Its either feast or famine, its either flood or drought Field by field and row by row it’s all I think about
