Sounds Like Danny Paisley, The Seldom Scene, Lonesome River Band

Influences The Seldom Scene, JD Crowe, The Osborne Brothers

With a desire to feature original material, we looked far and near. We reached out to a good friend Seth Sawyer, of the Seth Sawyer Band, about one of his songs. He and his wife, Candi, are also the promoters of the Jenny Brook Bluegrass Festival in Tunbridge, VT. Seth had written a beautiful song for his wife, Candi, that he’s been performing for a while.
They live in the Green Mountain State, hence the song is called, Green Mountain Girl.

Billy T and Alex were driving to a gig and were listening to the Seth Sawyer Band album, Green Mountain Girl. When the song came on, they both recall saying to each other at the same time, “4-4 and faster.” What they meant is that they both heard the song in their mind being at a 4/4 Time Signature and about 130 beats per minute, opposed to the original ¾ version that Seth and his band play much slower.

We recorded it the way we heard the song and sent a rough demo to Seth. Thankfully, Seth liked the song and was pleased that Rock Hearts was recording it. Shortly after recording the song, Rock Hearts performed it live for the Sawyers at their annual festival.
