Dreamacres
Dreamacres
The rooster crows, the sun is up,
time to face the light.
Fryin’ bacon and a couple eggs
start the day just right.
Breakfast’s done, day’s just begun,
make it what it’s all become.
Dreamacres is the place to be,
it’s just right for me.
I wish I could sleep all day,
but that’s not in the plan.
Go out and cut some hay –
part of livin’ off the land.
Might not be for everyone,
workin’ ‘till the day is done.
Dreamacres is the place to be,
it’s just right for me.
Gotta plow, a horse and cow,
a place to hang my hat –
a gal who loves me anyhow,
a dog that sings and scats.
Find a stream, take a plunge,
get dried off in the summer sun.
Dreamacres is the place to be
and it’s just right for me.
There’s a bar that ain’t that far
and they know my name.
Got pickled eggs in the jar,
beer that’s made from grain.
Drank a few with guys I knew,
tellin’ lies that might be true.
Dreamacres is the place to be,
it’s just right for me.
(break - whistling)
Goin’ home, the day is done,
‘nother one has come and gone.
Chickens’ll roost ‘till the morning sun,
close the gate, shut the barn.
Rest my head, know it’s mine,
shut my eyes and dream sublime.
Dreamacres is the place to be,
it’s just right for me.
It’s just right for me.
