Alberta Highway

Alberta Highway
Felt like a hobo, not a dollar to my name
And what was left to set me free was on a moving train
Hitched rides on the edge of town, watching falling stars
Played my share of cowboy songs in fallin’ down whiskey bars
Take me home Alberta highway
Take me back where I belong
Where the winds blow warm and wild rivers run
Take me home, Alberta Highway
I still hear my momma say, if you want it son
You’re gonna have to work for it or it just won’t get done
And all the things we dream in life, and hope just one comes true
Now all I’ve got is an old road map, guiding me back to you
Take me home Alberta highway
Take me back where I belong
Where the winds blow warm and wild rivers run
Take me home, Alberta Highway
On the road, heading west, I see the great divide
And wheat fields swaying in the wind singing Auld Lang Syne
Dipped my toes into the Bow and felt my soul release
Now tired old shoes and homesick blues are fading memories
Take me home Alberta highway
Take me back where I belong
Where the winds blow warm and wild rivers run
Take me home, Alberta Highway
