Biography
Bandleader Michael Gamble’s 10+ years of work in every aspect of the global swing dance community informs the band’s repertoire and taste. The music will carry a dance floor all night long, but is just as comfortable in listening rooms, or even setting a classy tone for a private event. Michael Gamble and his Rhythm Serenaders pursue one mission in any setting: to share the joy and infectious energy of mid-20th century American Jazz!
At their core, though, Serenaders are a dance band, plain and simple. They play for Lindy Hoppers, Balboa Dancers, and Blues Dancers. In their first year on the road, they played for Swing Into Spring, Glen Echo’s Spanish Ballroom, Down South Camp Meeting, The Greenville Lindy Exchange, Lindy On The Rocks, The Brawl, Swing Out New Hampshire, Music City Shuffle, and more small and medium-sized dance venues than could be counted. Year two brings return trips to many of those events, plus more Balboa events, more Blues events, and more opportunities to help create that amazing synergy of dancing and music.
