I Am The Evidence

I know the penalty, I know what’s meant for me
And I know I’ll get what I deserve
Times are not meant to change so I will bear my shame
And pray for mercy anywhere I turn

But doing what is kind and doing what they say is right
Are often not the same from what I’ve learned
So then who is this man writing words into the sand
Asking those with stones who will go first

The sinner and the perfect Lamb of God
“Saviour remember me” I beg him as our bodies bleed
And even at the end he saves the lost
