Just To See You Smile

Sometimes I’m amazed, by things that I’ve seen on this trail
I’ve been blessed beyond anything that I deserve
somehow I always caught the wind in my sail

And I know that this race isn’t over,
But after all of the blessings I’ve found
After all the aches and the pains, against the wind and the rain
I still look forward to hearing the sound,
of your voice, and seeing your beautiful smile
When I was lost and I needed the strength to go on
I found refuge with you for a while

And I don’t think that I can start all over,
If I don’t have you by my side
But I’ll find my way, on the darkest of days
As long as you are along for the ride
 
Whatever is left on this journey,
I still want to make it with you
This day was a long time coming
But I close my eyes and it’s still brand new

I hope you know this race isn’t over,
though we’ve had more than our share of trials
After all the miles, at the end of the day
It’s been worth it just to see you smile
