Blowing On A Wind From Yesterday
Now that the sun’s gone down, and no one’s left around and the toll of this life, has taken hold
There’s been a price to pay, so much time we had to waste
Now there’s a small creek where a river used to flow
Somehow the world dictated terms on how and where we spent our time and the clouds of someone else’s storm found our door
Maybe now we’ll have the chance, somehow find our way back home
Maybe get back to the way we were before

We haven’t been back down that road again, but there’s still a past that never ends
Don’t want to put it all behind us, don’t want to throw it all away
Maybe somehow there is still a chance, and we can find it if we try
Blowing on a wind from yesterday, riding on the wings of life

When I look at that blue horizon, it takes me right back to the past
When we were standing by the river, with the water just as clear as glass
Finding faces in the clouds, in that summer sky,
We’d listen to the radio, and watch the clouds roll by
now times will never be that easy,
But those times are always in my mind

We haven’t been back down that road again, but there’s still a past that never ends
Don’t want to put it all behind us, don’t want to throw it all away
On the banks of that old river, beneath the peace of that blue sky
Blowing on a wind from yesterday, riding on the wings of life
