Biography

We have had thousands respond to Slidawgs music all across the US wanting to know exactly who is Slidawg and more about his band the Redneck Ramblers. Slidawg is no "Bubba come lately" to the redneck movement across the US. Slidawg was a redneck before redneck was cool. He grew up in very rural south Georgia in a town named Swainsboro, blue collar and redneck central! Slidawg's redneck heritage comes from the rural town of Social Circle, GA where his grandaddy named Heath, was one of 12 kids and lived in a 2 room house on a farm and you could see chickens running around under the house’s floor boards.

Heath married a young lady named Lily Belle and they had one daughter named Larue. Larue is Slidawg’s mama and any true self respecting redneck man takes care of his Mama. Grandaddy Heath taught the young Slidawg how to fish and hunt and respect God and country.

Slidawg would go stay with his Grandaddy and Lily Belle (Slidawg called her Bubbo) in their trailor on the weekends and learn all the things any blue collar self respecting redneck boy oughta know. In the early years, some of Siding’s favorite redneck things to eat were dried beef on toast or better known as SOS, fried pickles, fried green maters, beef jerky, fried egg sandwiches and boiled egg casserole. His granny Bubbo, also made nanner puddin and nanner sandwiches.

As Slidawg got older hanging out with his redneck buddies; Marty, Bells, Slick, Stud Ashley, Billy Boy, Mummy and Melvin his favorite redneck thing to do was cow tippin' (knockin' a standing cow over while they are asleep), graveyard egg fights, toilet bowlin' (rollin' a bowiling ball at a toilet outside until someone knocks it over), making homemade knives, snipe hunting, and TP'n houses and trailors, (sneaking up at night and throwing toilet paper all in the trees and all over the house).

One night Slidawg and his buddies was pickin' on there favorite goober, a guy named Todd Wilson, but more often referred to as Wad Tilson. Well Slidawg decided to round up everybody and go TP Wad's house and they did a beautiful job with a large amount of toilet paper taken from the gas stations and Dairy Queen's toilets. The next morning the gang gathered to go see their work and Wad and his Dad already cleaned it all up. So not to be out done Slidawg and the redneck gang gathered up more toilet paper from the Tick Tock Hotel toilets and TP'd Wad's house again the next night. Sure nuff the next morning Wad and his Dad cleaned it all up again before anybody could see it. Not to be outdone, Slidawg and his buddies gathered up another round of toilet paper from the school house and that night headed back to Wad's house. But this time Wad and his dad were waiting with pellet guns and started just as all the boys started throwing toilet paper, they opened fire and we began haulin tail threw the woods. Mummy was nicknamed that because he was freakin' huge and he ran smack into a guide wire holding up a telephone pole. That wire flung him up in the air and knocked him flat out. So as the motto goes, leave no redneck behind, all the gang picked up Mummy and took off running through the woods, to escape Wad and his dad shootin' pellets at them.

Slidawg's first job was dipping electroplating metal parts for caskets at the Freckers electroplating plant. He also read water meters for the county water department, did various yard work, and made extra money picking up pecans and selling them.

Slidawg then started making music about all his life experiences and has put out his first two CD's and video. The first two CD's are Blue Collar Chrsitmas and Redneck Christmas. The first video can be seen on YouTube and many other places and it is called "Did You Heared What I Heared". Slidawg is busy in the trailor writing more songs about his life and they will be out in 2008, A Redneck Fathers Day, A Redneck Wedding, A Blue Collar Vacation, A Redneck Halloween and a Redneck Survival Kit DVD and other surprises.
