The Fire In Your Eyes (3:48)

I am fascinated by people’s eyes. I don’t know who first said it but I believe that eyes are the windows to a person’s soul. You can tell a lot about a person just by looking into their eyes. While I was working as an Environmental Officer for the provincial government, I was given training in Kinesic Interviewing – a technique to tell whether someone is telling the truth or making something up – a handy skill for an environmental cop but also in day to day life. Part of that training concentrated on what an observer can tell just from watching a person’s eyes. The action of someone’s eyes constitutes a significant portion of a person’s body language.
My fascination for eyes has been with me most of my life and eyes have been the theme or focus for more than a few of the songs I’ve written. Whether you’re twelve or eighty there is nothing quite like seeing the love reflected in that special someone’s eyes. I tried to express that sentiment and feeling in the lyrics of this song and hope that others out there have similar feelings about a loved one’s eyes. If that fire is in their eyes there will be love in their hearts.
