Rompin Rovin Days
Hey I've been a rambler all my rompin rovin days, just a railway boy with nothin for to do,
my people waved farewell to me somewheres down the road, I'm a hobo's friend I'm only passing through.

Now I've seen all your towns from San Marcos in the south, to the concrete fenced in walls of New York town,
and everywhere I go people don't want to know my name, and the talking seems to stop when I'm around.

For every mile I rode a freight train I walked a city block, gazing through the windows at the goods I couldn't buy,
but the thing that hurt me most when I was travelling all alone...is that no one cared enough to ask me why.

So, hey I've been a rambler all my rompin rovin days, a railway boy with nothing for to do, my people waved farewell to me somewheres down the line...I'm a hobo's friend I'm only passing through.
