Pickin’ on Stevie Ray Vaughan is a passionate instrumental reworking of the bluesy style of a timeless guitar legend whose music continues to evoke strong responses in listeners.

Stevie Ray Vaughan was a one-of-a-kind guitarist: nicknamed the Texas Tornado, the Pride and Joy of a state known for things larger-than-life, he became a legend with his innovative riffs and inspired technique, cutting a devastating path through rock and blues. Tragically, Vaughan, like other heroes before him, was taken too soon from this world.

Pickin’ on Stevie Ray Vaughan is a respectful tribute to a true master of the blues tradition, fusing his southwestern flavored rock with traditional musical styles of the southeastern mountain ranges. His emotional arrangements and blistering guitar stylings have been recaptured by talented bluegrass and country artists and the lightning sounds of 5-string banjo, dobro and mandolin. Pickin’ on Stevie Ray Vaughan, by recasting his songs into a unique genre, keenly demonstrates that his music is truly eternal.
