After WWII, the Almanac Singers became The Weavers (without Woody as a member). Despite their recent history of singing patriotic "Beat Hitler!" songs, and a string of hit records such as "Goodnight Irene" in the early '50s, The Weavers were blacklisted from airplay and live performances for their left-wing past.
