Biography

Patsy Trigg
Bio
Music * Recordings
Patsy is best known as the prettier half of the duo that recorded the #1 Gold and Platinum Hit Christmas song “Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer.” Grandma was released in 1979 and hit the airwaves and took over the #1 spot in Billboard Magazine in 1983. She remained in the number one position for five years running placing Bing Crosby’s “White Christmas” second.

Grandma has never dropped out of the top ten since she first debuted. Grandma went Gold in 1989 and then received her first RIAA Platinum Certification February 15, 1997.

Commercial * Film * Video
With the success of ‘Grandma” came opportunities in other venues of the entertainment field. Patsy was soon signed by the William Morris Agency in Beverly Hills, California. The commercials she has appeared in are Hunt Wesson, Land ‘O Lakes, K-Mart, Orville Redenbacher, Toyota to name a few. Patsy became best known as “Two-Scoops” when her Kellogg’s Raisin Bran commercial went national and was played during the Super Bowl.

Patsy landed the part of a General’s wife in the movie “The Right Stuff.” She played the part of Cousin Mel in their MTV video “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer” and played the girlfriend in their music video “Doomsday Waltz” that aired on the Today show.

Musical Hiatus
After the band split up in the late 80’s Patsy took a personal hiatus from the entertainment business and moved back home to Tennessee to spend quality time with her family.

During this time she pursued adventures, activities and occupations that piqued her interest. A few of these interests were teaching a music publishing workshop at Motlow College, working full time as an on air DJ for WLIJ, as well as a member of the Bar B Q cooking team Oink Cackle & Moo, coming in 4th out of 70 participants in the whole hog category in Memphis, Tennessee. Last but not least she got her auctioneer’s license and sold everything from the kitchen sink to tractors.

Humorist * Storyteller
Looking for a new way to express her humorous side, Patsy decided to try her hand at comedy and storytelling and honed her craft in the Nashville area at Zanies, The Hard Rock Café, Jody’s and Guido’s.
Creative Concepts & Projects

In 2008 Patsy teamed up with Dan Dee Toys and created a singing and dancing Poinsettia plant named ‘Percy the singing Poinsettia’ that was released in the Rite Aid Drug Store chain. To go along with her new toy, Patsy has written her first children’s book titled “Percy, The Puny Poinsettia” and is finishing up on her second children’s book “Clouds.”

Patsy has also written her first book of short stories titled “Letters From Grandma to Patsy.” Some stories are based on true experiences while touring.

This past year Patsy became a member of NSAI (National Songwriters Association International). She enjoys this new creative outlet and has recently recorded two CD’s of her original material, “Still At It” and “New and Original Christmas Classics’. Patsy enjoys performing these new releases mixed with old familiar songs at local venues like The Coffee Tree, Roosters, The Tater Box and The Brew as well in Nashville, Tennessee at the Nashville Palace and The Bluebird Café.
