My daddy Orlando Pete Pender Senior was born in North Carolina
A sharecropper and he married my mother Nina Mae
And together they birth 6 boy and 6 girls
Which equals 12 kids and Christ had 12 disciples
And now they are 110 of us
My dad was a dynamic farmer and moonshine maker
He worked from sun up to sun down
The best farmer of cotton, corn and tobacco that I've ever known

My dad worked hard and he played hard
And that was what killed him in the end
In 1984 when he passed away
I asked God almighty, what happened to him
My daddy

The doctors and friends told him that he better slow down
But my daddy kept on living in sin
Then one day it all came to an end

That he was in better my place
As I told my mother
