All That You Left of This Man
I got served with your papers today. Black robed man said to stay away.
Poor little victim. You play the part.
But it’s your dagger stabbed in my heart.
At least your Daddy’s happy now.
Cat didn’t like me anyhow.
Alone with my plasma TV. At least you’re finally free from me.
You took and you took and you took and you took.
Wasn’t the ending we wrote for our book.
You don’t care no more but please understand.
Nothing is left. There’s just nothing left. That’s all that you left of this man.
Get up at five. Get up alone.
Drink my coffee. Stare at the phone.
You buried me very long ago.
I’m dead to you. You told me so.
Hurt so hard I could hardly feel.
They told me time would always heal.
I moved away. I moved very far. But watch out for my falling star.
You took and you took and you took and you took. Wasn’t the ending we wrote for our book. You don’t care no more but please understand. That nothing is left. There’s just nothing left. That’s all that you left of this man.
Just as I think that I’m in the clear. Into my head. Guess who appears? You’re a nightmare who came from a dream. A smile that turned right into a scream.
I walk the earth in search of a cure. I wait for the day I feel pure. No witch doctor can lift this curse. It doesn’t get better. It only gets worse.
You took and you took and you took and you took. Wasn’t the ending we wrote for our book. You don’t care no more but please understand. Nothing is left. There’s just nothing left. That’s all that you left of this man
