Josie's Reel
Josie's Reel. This is another Toner/Sewell composition, and the story is based on Keith's Grandmother, Josie, who was a very keen dancer, and attended local Square Dances on a regular basis. The song is part-fiction, but, I think, manages to paint a picture of innocence and charm. We were also lucky to have had this recorded by a great Band from Chicago, Special Consensus. Our take on it has a little bit of Ireland and a little bit of Georgia, with Keith on Fiddle and Banjo, and John Mock [ Dixie Chicks ] on Whistles.
