Jack McCall Revisited
Well the name is Jack McCall,
Though it don’t mean nothin’ at all,
Someday, I’ll stand tall with the rest.
Well I made myself a plan
Gonna tell you the best that I can
It was west of the Badlands and the Crow.

It was four in the afternoon
When I walked in the old No. 10 saloon
He was playin’ cards with his back to the door.
There was nothin’ he could do
I pulled the trigger ’fore anyone knew
And I saw him and his .32 hit the floor.

Clock hands are movin’ so slowly
Clingin’ to numbers like men growing old.

Well that’s right, I’m the one
Who did what couldn’t be done
I laid Bill to his rest with my gun.
Well his speed was known so well
To hear the folks in Deadwood tell
It must have been a cold day in Hell.

Sure, I tried to break loose
But I reckon it ain’t no use
I’ll just wait for the devil and the noose
But now printer spell it right
‘Cause you’re talkin’ to a real big man tonight
And some day, you just might understand.
