This song is written about an amazing concert performance by Texas songwriting legend Billy Joe Shaver. Playing a show on a summer night in Bowling Green, Kentucky, Shaver had just started his first song when lightening knocked out the power. With no PA, electric instruments,or lights, Billy Joe walked down from the stage and started singing his songs. The band members picked up acoustic guitars and accompanied him as he played for about 90 minutes. The man simply would not give up.
