Thunder Island

This is a song that I have always loved. It's about summer and the care free innocence of young love. The whole song pivots on the poignant line "every mile away and every day cuts a little bit deeper." This song was so in the middle of the bitter-sweet nostalgic mind set i was in at the time.

I had the opportunity to record with country star Collin Raye, and I wanted to do a cover a song that meant something to me. Thunder Island was perfect for the album. A fun song that had plenty of room for stylistic changes. It also easily fit having the lead vocal parts split between two singers. We had so much fun with this track! Collin give an AMAZING performance.
