Jaded

This is a song about a woman who the world has chewed up and spit out. Her dreams have been crushed and she see's no future. This soulful track is a set up for the story of comfort and acceptance that is told in the following track, Baggage.

This short, a cappella number was original the introduction to the Baggage track. After hearing Amy Henderson's amazing performance, it was clear that it had the legs to stand on its own. Amy is an accomplished gospel singer and is truly beautiful inside and out. One problem we had was that her voice was really "too good" for the track. I can remember yelling through the control room glass for her to over-sing the parts to add that edge. We eventually came up with an alter ego persona name "Vivian Stiletto" to get her into the proper mind set!
