THE STORY BEHIND THE SONG: When my mare had her first foal she passed out. I went up to her and asked if she was ok. She raised her head slowly, dazed and just looked at me. Then all of the sudden she sat up, eyes widened she looked behind her at the newborn foal waiting for her. In that moment I saw my carefree young filly change into an adult mare, ready to mother without a second thought. That raw natural immediate LOVE that swept over her just took my breath away. I wanted to write about that moment but never came up with a base story. Until years later I met some friends who were getting married. I asked them about the moment they both knew they were meant for each other and this song is their story. Alyssa Bonagura sang with me and just elevated this song to higher levels. Definitely one of the best songs on this CD!
