”When I hear an old song play, I remember daddy's RCA stereo, like years ago, and it's calling me...

”There’s never been a better time to be thinking about coming home— Tradition, Family, Heritage— things that help make us our best selves.
Mike Mitchell’s new single, “Calling Me”, is all about coming home. The song is sung from the perspective of the lonely traveller who remembers the hopes, dreams, and love of his younger days, and longs to return to his small town home.

Co-written with Jack Shannon, arranged and produced by Mike Mitchell Band, engineered by Amanda Cook at Mountain Fever, mixed by Harold Thompson at Blackwater, and mastered by Mike Monseur, “Calling Me” delivers the singing, harmony, instrumental prowess, mix, and superior audio quality that Mike’s fans have come to expect.

Guesting with MMB on this single is the incomparable Tray Wellington on his Deering Banjo. “Tray sat in with us at Bluegrass First Class at the beginning of the year, and was scheduled to do our summer shows with MMB. We gelled so well on and off stage, and I’m delighted to have him on this single.”

The song was debuted by Mike and MMB guitarist, Joey Mosley, at this year’s IBMA Songwriter Showcase. Mike and wife, Jenny Lynne, hosted the prestigious event for the second year in a row.
