Silent Woman
Silent Woman
(Tabitha Agnew, Laura Carrivick & Charlotte Carrivick)

Silent woman
Never spoken
In her eighty six long years
Silent woman
Never spoken
Lived alone between two hills

Two brothers
Throwing punches
In their raging days of youth
Two brothers
Throwing punches
On the path between to hills

Silence rings a warning bell
Gunshot ringing
One man bleeding
Brings the lawmen quickly to the scene
Gunshot ringing
One man bleeding
The other running from the scene

Tears flow from his eyes
As he stands on the gallows high
The gathered crowd wait to watch him die
When they hear an unfamiliar cry

Silent woman
Now she’s spoken
Saw the fear in that boy’s eyes
Silent woman
Now she’s spoken
She couldn’t stand to see another young man die
