She Was Mine
She wasn't the kind of mother most boys grow up with
You wouldn't find her in the kitchen or folding my clothes
Young when she had me, still pretty young when she left us
Spite all her years, she had the heart of a child

And she was mine, the woman that give me life
It's hard to forget all the good times we had
It wasn't all gray, those hard times that came and blew away
She might not have been the best in the world but she was mine

Set in her ways, lordy she was stubborn
Either give her what she wanted or just step aside
Daddy stood by her, when most men would have walked away
When she took her last breath was the first time he cried.

And she was mine, the woman that give me life
It's hard to forget all the good times we had
It wasn't all gray, those hard times that came and blew away
She might not have been the best in the world but she was mine
I'm here today to sing her praise cause she was mine.
