Far Fetched Idea
Down the drive to the main road trucks roar past
Out here far from the city and the bustle
Down in the yard the dogs are barking and the chooks are laying eggs
You come home from working the land and you lay your weary head

And it’s a far fetched idea
Yeah it’s way out in the hemisphere
It’s a far fetched idea
But I wouldn’t mind settling down here

My family’s from around here though I’d never called it home
After five years in the city felt like ten years on the road
What’s so good about this flat land with it’s hot and windy days
In a cottage in the middle of nowhere, you’ll find the answer lain

And it’s a far fetched idea
Yeah it’s way out in the hemisphere
It’s a far fetched idea
But I wouldn’t mind settling down here

The way you walk on coals for me
The light in your eyes when you say
Honey it’s so good to have you home
Good to have you home

Up at six am in the tractor
You work a twelve hour day
But you’re happier here than most folks
And when you play you play

And it’s a far fetched idea
Yeah it’s way out in the hemisphere
It’s a far fetched idea
But I wouldn’t mind settling down here
