Everything Is Gonna Be Alright
Everything Is Gonna Be Alright

Daddy came home and without a word somehow momma knew
They’re closing down the factory his big steel job was through
Momma rushed to his arms and he held her tight as she began to cry
I barely overheard her ask him “how will we get by”

Daddy said “Come’ on don’t you cry don’t you worry none
Cause everything is gonna be alright
It’s just another hurdle not the end of the world
We’ve just begun to fight
And it’s gonna take a struggle and some sacrifice
But if we hold on real tight
Come on don’t you cry don’t you worry none
Cause everything is gonna be alright

Months went by with daddy out of work things were getting really bad
The bank foreclosed and took our home and everything we had
We lived on the streets and we lived with friends we moved from town to town
Daddy had these words he tell us when we were feeling down

Repeat Chorus

Daddy always said “We’ve got to have faith
And we’ve got to pray to God above
That as long as we’re together we don’t need much else
We have each other’s love

Daddy spoke those words many years ago though it seems like yesterday
Times were tough but we survived it all turned out ok
Now I have a family of my own and when things don’t turn out right
I hold them in my arms and tell them what my daddy said those nights

Come’ on don’t you cry don’t you worry none
Cause everything is gonna be alright
It’s just another hurdle not the end of the world
We’ve just begun to fight
And it’s gonna take a struggle and some sacrifice
But if we hold on real tight
Come on don’t you cry don’t you worry none
Don’t you give up now we’re too far a long
Come on don’t you cry don’t you worry none
Cause everything is gonna be alright
