World Video Premiere: Mark Wayne Glasmire - Going Home
By: Matt Bjorke
September 5, 2011
This Music Video was performed and written by Mark Wayne Glasmire. "Going Home" is the lead single from the upcoming CD "Mark Wayne Glasmire". This clip was directed and produced by H. L. Jarboe on location in Leipers Fork & Nashville , Tennessee. The "General" is played by Tom Schimmels with cameos from L'Tanya Bell, Jamal Jarboe and Brian Feys.
Here's what Mark Wayne Glasmire had to say about "Going Home": This song is based on a telephone conversation I was having with a good friend of mine. He was a week away from retiring from a very long and successful career with the US Marines. We were talking about where he had been and where he was headed.

Mark Wayne Glasmire’s latest album — a self-titled EP — will be available January 10th. “Going Home,” the debut video from the album is already getting airplay on The Country Network. It’s a country/folk album full of heart and soul.
When you encounter the songs of Mark Wayne Glasmire, your ears take it in and your feet start to tap out their agreement with the experience. Once you’ve had a taste of his music, you’ll be hungry for more of Glasmire’s easy, soothing voice. His newest album (co-produced by John Albani and Mark Wayne Glasmire) is made up of seven satisfying tracks. In a field of EPs that could easily benefit from editing, this group of songs has been put together with care; the tracks complement each other and leave you wanting more.
Put this album on and you’ll enjoy it just fine. But do yourself a favor and listen to it a second or third time as soon as possible — you’ll find yourself starting to sing along. Repeat the process and you’ll see how quickly these songs grow on you. Eventually, the guitars, harmonica, dobro, fiddle, drums, bass and keyboard will seem like old friends.
One of Mark Wayne Glasmire’s strengths as a writer is his use of imagery, and the talent he has for assigning just the right image or prose to the musical moment. His new single from the album, “Going Home,” was inspired by a conversation he had with a good friend who was retiring from a long career in the U.S. Marines….
If there’s a track that typifies the easy-going and sunny outlook that drives this album, it’s the infectious “I Like You.” It’s a simple, straightforward “list” song, but its simplicity only informs the utter sincerity with which it is delivered. But it’s not the only song that will restore your soul; the album is a collection of songs that take up such important topics as love at first sight, raised expectations, fairy tale endings, and faith in all things good and possible. It’s refreshing… and it reminds me a bit of the moment years ago when I first heard a young Collin Raye perfo

His heart does the talking, December 20, 2011

Always keeping his own "eyes on a brand new horizon," Mark Wayne Glasmire's journey has taken him to Pennsylvania, New York, Tennessee and Texas. It's because the guitarist, songwriter and singer is out of his mind over music. He believes good songs can make a difference in the world. When you hear the seven on "MWG," you'll realize that it's his heart doing the talking as he sings a fun, self-penned song such as "I Like You." In fact, much like the songs on his 2000 album (All of My Heart), he continues to show his affinity for imaginative writing about relationships. Then he delivers the songs with wisdom, commitment and personality. A full cast of country session players help him maximize the songs' emotional gravity. While his acoustic guitar may have natural mahogany or rosewood tones, there's also no denying the earthiness of Glasmire's vocal ambiance. "Last of a Dying Breed," for example, is an assertive statement about working hard, self-reliance, accountability and compassion.

If there's an anthem for the up-and-coming country musician and his study, self-assured music, then it's "Now I Believe." Written as a love song, it exudes a level of confidence that should bring him many "bright, sunny crystal clear days" in all aspects of his life and career. As "The Moment" brings this showcase EP to closure (just as he does with his live shows), Glasmire expresses a bit of self-doubt and apprehension but also optimism and gratitude as he contemplates his life's direction. He says, "So I thank you for taking a moment, And listening to me sing my songs, I hope that the words will stay with you, When I'm gone ..." The music left me smiling, and I'm sure it will do the same for you. Mark Wayne Glasmire has a fairly modest goal of simply being able to make a living with his music. With this new album release, the grand prize winner in the county song division of the 2010 Chris Austin Songwriting Contest is well on his way.

Mark Wayne Glasmire Makes TImely Statement With Debut Country Single, "Everythig Is Gonna Be Alright"
Nashville, TN (August 3, 2009) -- Mark Wayne Glasmire makes a timely statement with his debut country single, "Everything Is Gonna Be Alright," which optimistically addresses today's less-than-sunny job and housing markets. “It's an affirmation of faith and hope," Glasmire says from his Arlington, Texas home. "This song could be about your neighbor, your brother or sister, mom or dad - or even you." Country radio programmers will find the track on this week’s CDX (Volume 480, track 8), or can download it right away from www.airplaydirect.com/markwayneglasmire . National radio promotion will be handled by Debbie Gibson-Palmer, Jack Pride and Jerry Duncan.

"Everything Is Gonna Be Alright" is the first single from Mark's latest CD, LIFE GOES ON, which he co-produced with John Albani (Steve Azar, Monty Holmes, Randy Boudreaux). The 12-song disc includes 10 originals and two outside tunes, but Glasmire's achingly clear tenor vocals and outstanding arrangements are the real standouts. A troubadour in the truest sense of the word, Mark has lived in Pennsylvania and Tennessee (Nashville) before landing in the music-rich world of Texas. He's won over 10 prestigious national and regional songwriting competitions and has recently shared the stage with Guy Clark and Dierks Bentley.

Fans can purchase “Everything Is Gonna Be Alright” and his CDs online at CDBaby, iTunes, Amazon and other e-tailers. They can enjoy more of Mark's music at www.markwayneglasmire.com or www.myspace.com/markwayneglasmire. To schedule an interview, email somuchmoore@charter.net or call Martha at 615-746-3994.
