Biography

A groove based quartet that puts new spins on classic tunes and presents original compositions in the classic organ quartet format.

Laurence Santos (Hammond B3) has been influenced by the Hammond B3styles of Dr. Lonnie Smith, Joey Defrancesco, Mike Ledonne, and Jimmy Smith. After completing his formal studies as a piano major from
the Capilano Jazz Studies Program, Laurence has focused extensively on the Hammond Organ and tenor saxophone. Laurence performs within the Vancouver music scene and has performed as part of the
Vancouver Jazz Festival.

Nathan Wylie has been drumming for the past 20 years. Since graduating from Capillano University with a bachelor’s degree in jazz performance in 2003, Nathan has been a passionate, full-time musician. He is well-versed in a variety of styles including jazz, pop, rock, country, and funk and has been performing in different jazz bands at various venues around the lower mainland for the past several years. He is the
drummer for the Juno nominated, Socan award winning band, Stabilo since their conception. They have toured and shared the stage with INXS, Lover Boy, Our Lady Peace, Blue Rodeo, Biff Naked, Hedley, KOS and many more.

Reece Worth (Guitars) attended Toronto’s prestigious Humber College for two years and relocated to Vancouver in 1999. Shortly after, he completed his degree in Jazz Studies at Capilano College under the tutelage of Ihor Kukurudza, Bill Coon, and Ron Samworth. In the local scene he is best known for his work with Freeflow who has toured both nationally and internationally and has shared stages with Toots and the Maytals, K’naan, Arrested Development, Michael Franti.

Robert Peskett (Trumpet and Flugelhorn) attended UBC School of Music and studied with Martin Barinbaum and Alan Matheson. He completed a Bachelor of Music in 1997. Rob has been playing in several groups since graduating and has also performed with Fred Stride’s UBC Jazz Ensemble. He has also performed at numerous jazz festivals around British Columbia including the Vancouver Jazz Fest.
