The Garden
THE GARDEN

Bare feet on the ground, she dances around
To a rhythm only little ones know
With no words to sing wrong, she steps to her own song
Softly, now the sun’s sinking low

There are flowers to fathom, so she toddles and grabs ‘em
Petals brushing baby-smooth skin
With a smile full of pleasure at the lightest of treasures
She opens your heart once again

Chorus:
So much to see right in front of your feet
Each new thing as sweet as the last
What will the breeze bring in on butterfly wings?
A whole world or one blade of grass

Verse break

Leaves in her hair, she crouches to stare
As shadow and light play their game
With sun on her cheeks and the hidden to seek
The wide world waits to be named.

Testing her mettle against dew drops that settle
She’s a moment unanchored by time
Cause tomorrows don’t matter when dandelions scatter
And roses and blackberries twine.

Chorus 2X
