Bentley Watched the Snow Fall
Remember when you were a kid and someone told you that no two snowflakes were the same? Did you ever wonder how we know that? This song tells the story of Wilson Bentley a.k.a.”Snowflake Bentley”, the meteorologist and photographer that photographed and studied snowflakes, theorizing that no two are alike. Bentley was also the first in the U.S. to collect, study and measure raindrops.
This track tells the story of Snowflake Bentley and contemplates the childlike nostalgia of wishing for snow on an ethereal cushion of sound. The keys ring like bells and the guitar rings back harmonics. The bass responds to them, making it seem as they are all gazing together in wonderment at the phenomenon of snow. Light drums bring in a short interlude with a single story-filled vocal throughout.
