We were reachin’ for reason
When we could’a been flyin’ to Spain
We were so weighed down by the small stuff
While the lilacs bloomed _ just the same

I wanna fly over moonbeans
Crossin’ the midnight sky
I wanna fly above the rolling hills
But the papers are pilin’ up
Everywhere we turn
So many things_keepin’ us down/keepin’ us down

We were reachin’ for reason
When we could’a been flyin’ to Spain
We were so weighed down by the small stuff
While the lilacs bloomed _ just the same

Every day’s a new dream
Down steps to a distant shore
Hangin’ on to our get-up-and-go
But lookin’ out from where we sit
Steps are made of sand
The world just spins_round & round /round & round

I wanna fly / I wanna fly
I wanna fly / oh, I wanna

Someday we’ll get away
Rise above the clouds
Leave our cares _ inside a box or two
It’s just that we’re racin’ time
Faster every year
See the lines fade_in the rear view / in the rear view
