In the Moonlight

If I ever had a guiding light I’d say it’s you
Always reaching out to take my hand, to pull me through
You’re my sunlight, evening comes to me when you’re not here
I will step into the darkness if I know you’re near
even though the night has come I know there’s another place
Where the sun is rising, shining on another face

In the moonlight I’m reminded of your light
In the moonlight I can find you in the night
And even though the sky is black I know the day will come
If the moonlight is gone, I believe there’s still a sun

The world has changed so quickly I’m not sure what I believe
We both know sometimes belief can make our senses leave
You’re no savior but to me you are the one I need
There is nothing I won’t do to follow in that creed
I have faith that you’re the one who makes my life complete
Shining on my path so I know where to place my feet
