Rosalind - Civil War Love Song
Drawing on history and her love for music, Americana songstress Rosalind’s newest single “Civil War Love Song” is sure to resonate with listeners. The single is being released by Lamon Records Nashville and will start hitting radio the first of August.

Inspired by a letter by Captain Sullivan Ballou, a Civil War soldier, written to his wife a mere two weeks before dying, the song is emotionally charged and deeply touching. The letter itself shows the intense love Captain Ballou had for both his wife and his country, and even though he knew he was likely to die in the war, felt strongly that this fate was still his duty as a soldier.

Those that choose to serve their country, and those that they leave behind, know all too well the immeasurable sacrifice they make in order to do so.

As Captain Ballou writes, “Sarah my love for you is deathless, it seems to bind me with mighty cables that nothing but Omnipotence could break; and yet my love of Country comes over me like a strong wind and bears me irresistibly on with all these chains to the battlefield.”
Rosalind modernly translates, “Dreams of us with our children give me such joy. Please forgive me for the pain. If I am lost in battle, remember- I’ll wait for you when we meet again.”

“Rosalind brings a level of sincerity and truth to all she writes,” says Dave Moody, Lamon Records’ Grammy® nominated label president. “And she delivers her tunes with powerful vocal performances.”
Having a talent for writing music since the 1990s, Rosalind uses her vocals to bring her music to life. “I hope my audience can connect with the sentiments of love, honor, and duty that this song has,” Rosalind shares. No doubt they will, as she emotionally weaves the tale of this fallen soldier, one that is still relevant and can connect, even today.

“Civil War Love Song” is at radio now and will be available everywhere music is sold, including iTunes and Amazon, on August 3rd. You can follow Rosalind’s story at www.rosalindmusic.com and read more about Lamon Records at www.lamonrecords.com.
