Livin Ain't Cheap
Livin’ Ain’t Cheap
The cost of gas is going up as we speak
Cost’s more to drive than I can earn in a week
I can’t afford the food I put on my table
I’m not afraid of work you know I’m willing & able
No way to quit so I’ll just keep on tryin
Livin aint cheap but it sure beats dying

Everything’s up but my paycheck is down
Factories are closing all over this town
Things are mighty tough for the common man
We got our backs to the wall with a line in the sand
There aint no use sittin round and crying
Livin aint cheap but it sure beats dying

Now all my life I been used, Nothing gained & nothing to lose
I’ve payed & payed, been taken for a ride, Now all I have left is my pride

Now I don’t need no welfare State
But the working man just don’t seem to rate
We get no relief from the elephant or mule
It’s a no win situation playing by their rules
Death & taxes are all you can rely on
Livin aint cheap but Lord it still beats dying
Yeah Livin aint cheap but it’s got to beat dying
