This Moment
This song was written directly for the Sept. 11 (9/11) victims and their families but could also be for anyone who has lost someone and relives the loss every anniversary of the passing. For 9/11, it's about how every year, the "anniversary" is felt so strongly in remembrance and though it's difficult to go on, you do -- with the support of everyone else around you (the whole country!). "The silver lining you were promised has vanished in the air" refers to the planes (silver liners) that went down. The "hope was born in the darkness" and the "the sun comes up while the moon is trying to hold onto the night" lines are about a semblance of your life and some form of happiness coming back to you after you have lived through a tragic loss. And of course the "stand beside you, guide you, dawn's early light" lines are referencing the U.S. National Anthem.
