6. SAN ANDREAS: (3:49) Slow Tempo. Epic feel. A dreamy sounding song about betrayal in love using the San Andreas fault line as a metaphor for their shattered world, with drums and electric/acoustic guitar as well as ethereal sounds. Anyone who has ever been deeply betrayed by a significant other experiences their whole world shaken in ruins. I’m not sure I will ever experience a love like this ever again. Everything I ate, smelled and saw felt like I was in another world when we were together. A world filled with an indescribable beauty. But this man was simply my own personal fault line. Every part of me fell through the cracks that he created beneath me. Every turn I made left me at a dead end. The ground was too shattered to stand on. Yet with decimation, you can learn. You can be bolder. And you know that one day they will have to face the consequences of their actions. The lyrics state, “The lying in your soul, you’ll face the consequence when you’re old.” When that moment comes where we see our lives flash before our eyes, will you look back at your actions with regret? Will you show resentment? Will you repent?
