Ace of Spades was the Blues Music Awards Soul Album of the Year. When O.V. Wright died in 1980, Johnny Rawls, his young music director, continued to lead the band as the Ace of Spades Band. Johnny Rawls has received music award nominations for all of his albums on Catfood Records. Now 63 years old, he still plays 200 date a year in the US and overseas.
